I just got done completing the pre-test and it was a little bit rough for me. I definetly think I need to refresh on some symbols and scales. My problem is that I can understand what is happening while I am playing a song but when it's not on my music or am not comprehending the symbols with the music, I have a lot trouble remembering them. Otherwise, the only other thing on the prestest I had trouble on was the counting and some of the scales, which I discuss in my previous post about my first year goal.

I have countless goals for band this year. There are a few that I want to hit hard on this year and really make sure I achieve and are able to be achieved. My first goal for the year is too learn all my major and minor scales as well as being able to successfully count beats on my own. Counting is something that I can easily do as a group and when I'm playing my music, but for some reason when I am trying to figure out the counting on my own, I struggle. For the major and minor scales, I just feel it is very important for me to be able to easily memorize and play all the scales. It would come in handy while I'm plaing my music as well. A strength that I have that is very handy for learning major and minor scales is the fact that I know basically all my notes, so memorizing the key signature for each scale is what I need to learn. I cannot wait to begin goals for the year and really be able to see the improvement at the end of the year!
